A circual rainbow forms in the incoming fog over Veidivötn. The fishing lakes - Veiðivötn, a row of water filled explosion craters. These craters belong to a system of volcanic fissures reaching from Landmannalaugar in the south west, through Bardarbunga in the north west part of the Vatnajökull ice sheet, to Dynjguhals south of the volcanic massif Askja. A major eruption, the fourth largest in Iceland since the settlement, took place on this fissure system in 1477. Veiðivötn eru vatnaklasi á Landmannaafrétti, sem samanstendur af allt að fimmtíu vötnum, bæði smáum og stórum. Mörg vötnin eru sprengigígar sem mynduðust í Veiðivatnagosinu 1477.
